World Environment Day 2024 - Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) in partnership with CDP organized a program on this theme on June 5, 2024, at FICCI Federation House, New Delhi. The program aimed to address the loss of productive land from desertification and land degradation. It focused on engaging experts and policymakers in a discussion about the strategic worth of public-private partnership to mainstream land restoration. The program highlighted the importance of land as a vital resource for producing food, preserving forests and bioersity, facilitating the natural management of water systems, and acting as a carbon store4. It also emphasized the role of appropriate land management in protecting and maximizing these services for society.
